About Our Music
The most common question asked when speaking with new pastors and music ministers is what type of music do you do. The answer to that question is “everything”. They take you from one end of the musical spectrum to the other with a seamless transition.
Primarily, the Walkers sing original music written by group members Geneva and Billy Walker. They work hard to write songs to inspire and to strengthen the believers walk. The words are rich and the music is a high energy cross of southern gospel, country, and contemporary, blended together to form what people around the country just call “Walker style”. One of the most common comments made after a service with the Walkers is that a persons musical preference might not be southern gospel but they love it now.
In addition to the original material the Walkers do many of CCLI’s top 100 praise and worship songs, the traditional hymns, and some cover songs of other well known groups such as the Gaither Vocal Band, Chris Tomlin, Michael W. Smith, and Phillips, Craig, and Dean.
When you see the Walkers live, you not only hear one of the freshest sounds, but you will also see something that you will not with most other groups in their genre of music. You will experience a multi-media presentation that goes along with what you hear. With powerful presentations before some of the songs, as well as visual references during each song, you will be stirred with both sight and sound.
These words will not be able to convey the true essence of what you will see and hear when you go to a service and see them live. We invite you to do just that. We invite you to “Experience the Music”, and to “Experience the Ministry”.
