The Walkers' Blog
A NEW PARTNERSHIP WITH THE WALKERS
In December, songs written and sung by the Walkers were submitted to Tate Music Group (TMG). TMG is an independent music company (their parent company is Tate Publishing) and selects less than 3.5% of submitted material each year. Brianne, Director of Artist Acquisitions, contacted us and said she is "certainly impressed and (The Walkers) have a fantastic original sound!" She feels The Walkers have a lot of potential. This is a great opportunity and we are honored for the Tate Music Group offer. The song, "Time of My Life" that kept David Cook of American Idol number one on the charts was written by Regie Hamm, who recently signed with TMG. The Voices of Glory, who grabbed America's attention on NBC's America Got Talent, has also been added to this exclusive list. TMG is a Christian based company who partners with both religious and secular groups but the foundation of this company is based on Christian principles. Few of the things TMG will be doing for us are: full production of music, have a personal marketing representative who will follow a marketing plan for every project which includes sending press releases, schedule and promote events, produce television commercials, and much more.
We don't anticipate being famous instead we emulate the prayer of Jabez. In 1 Chronicles 4:10, we read: "And Jabez called on the God of Israel, saying, Oh that Thou wouldest bless me indeed, and enlarge my coast, and that Thine hand might be with me, and that Thou wouldest keep me from evil, that it may not grieve me!" The prayer is composed of four parts. First, Jabez asks God to bless him. Second, he asks God to enlarge his territory or increase his responsibility. Third, he prays that God will be with him and stay close. Lastly, Jabez asks that God keep him from harm so that he will be free from pain. We will continue to ask him to open the doors for us so that he may be glorified. We are so honored for this opportunity. With this new path, we will be able to concentrate more on seeing souls saved and work less on the business side of things. I asked Billy if he could ever sing secular country music and he said without hesitation that he could not because he couldn't make a spiritual impact and he wouldn't be able to see sinners come to know the man who died on the cross for our sins. He has a burden for the lost and has dedicated his life for the cause of the Gospel and has given his talent back to the Lord.
We want to say thank you for praying for us and for the monetary support. It has been a tough economic time for all of us but you gave and I pray God has blessed you in your faithfulness. And for some of you, we haven't been able to see you in a couple of years but you still give so that souls can be touched. I personally can not express the gratitude we have and how humbled and honored we are that you sow into this ministry. Every bit of the money goes into the ministry so that we can continue what God has The Walkers to do for him. Thank you!
Angela
Happy New Year everyone! Yes, it's been a long time coming for my first blog and I apologize for the delay.
